It is strange to think of a blog as having a "mission," but this blog is a bit unique and it does have a purpose.
Most simply, we want to provide you an insight into the most beautiful things in life: baseball and literature. We firmly believe that each teaches its most careful students the essential facets of this life: goodness, truth, and beauty.
The subtle poetry of Keats is matched only by the fluidity of a flawless double play -- the brilliance of Shakespeare mirrored only in a perfect game.
As a reader, we hope that you are able to understand that we as writers are merely poor purveyors of perfect arts. At times we misjudge them, and even lash out against them. These ill-tempered outbursts are simply the natural stumbles of other humble pilgrims as they strive to attain the perfection set before them. Do not falsely believe that we, your sometimes guides, know more than you. We only wish to share the little pieces of beauty we see daily.
In conclusion, we hope that you enjoy our ramblings and catch a glimpse of our joys as we share them with you. Please, forgive us our errors, and try to see only the good we seek to convey.
If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumber'd here
While these visions did appear.
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding but a dream,
Gentles, do not reprehend:
if you pardon, we will mend:
And, as I am an honest Puck,
If we have unearned luck
Now to 'scape the serpent's tongue,
We will make amends ere long;
Else the Puck a liar call;
So, good night unto you all.
Give me your hands, if we be friends,
And Robin shall restore amends.
Play ball!
